Relaxation Skills Facilitator Training

This training has been developed, tested and monitored in an addictions health care center by a Vancouver Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor.

In this training, you will experiment with relaxation strategies to help promote adaptive functioning in your and other people’s daily lives. The teachings applies the philosophies and interventions practiced in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The first day is an Introduction and it is FREE.  But we would like to hold space for you.  You will

Training Goals:

1. Increase individual body awareness of personal reaction to stress
2. Introduce Strategies for Relaxation
3. Build support through the group and help each other to realize we are not alone in feelings of stress.
4. Demonstrate an ability to attempt relaxation strategies.
5. Demonstrate insight into the benefis of relaxation
6. Demonstrate and express a desire to learn and practice relaxation strategies

Method

Structured group activities will be lead each week. Group activities will start at the basic level of relaxation techniques.

You will learn a set of relaxation skills that you can use and teach people in every day life.

There be be Six sessions:

Session 1: Introduction to Course Content and Mindfulness

Session 2: Mindfulness Review and Deep Breathing

Session 3: Breathing Review and Progressive Muscle Relaxation

Session 4: Breathing Review and Autogenics

Session 5: Breathing Review and Self Massage

The training will run for six weeks.   Dates to be announced soon.

You will be provided with a manual and some DVDs/CDs of some of the exercises. Additions to the manual may occur as we apply the techniques and add more – i.e. healing sounds, inner smile.

You will receive a Certificate of Completion.

The first day is a FREE  Introduction.  You will learn some techniques and tools that you can easily implement into your life  and the lives of others right away.
